2024 Compleat Angler Bathurst Inland Series

Round 2 - Wyangala Dam

With such a successful maiden event in round one, we upped the entry cap to 50 teams for our Rd 2 mixed species event an Wyangala Dam, and it did not disappoint. 50 teams battled it out over 2 days, to land their best 4 Golden Perch and best 2 Murray Cod in a combined length event.

The weather was on our side, with some cracking Autumn days on show, that produced some great fishing, the leader board was up and down like yoyo all weekend. 

With 8 cod over the magic meter mark landed, it was an open competition for the taking, however it was a whopping 1229mm cod that sealed victory in the dying stages for the winning team "Loomsys Fish N Fix" Jamie Loomes, Mitch and Nathan Skeers, the fish landed by Mitch also earning the $500 biggest Cod voucher, thanks to Compleat Angler in Bathurst. That fish paired with another 1075mm model and a modest bag of yellas was enough to seal the deal and earn the boys $3500 in cold hard cash, that money may have gone a long way towards their fuel bill for the weekend, as they boys accounted for most of their fish some 40km up the Lachlan arm of the dam fishing jackal swimbaits and black grubs, even managing to run out of fuel on the scoot home.

In the other placings we had 2nd team "Jigheads" Brad Gardiner, Neil and Greg Hodges ($2500) and in 3rd we had "Farqueue" Josh Higgs and Joe Smith. ($1500), teams 4-10th where also awarded with some great prizes from Shimano, Wilson and Profishent Tackle.
